After years of drinking alcohol to cope with stress and uncertainty, Sarah Weber found herself needing to make a choice: finish her bottle and possibly never wake up to see her family again OR call 911 and begin a long, difficult journey of recovery.
Today, Sarah is a Family Support Coordinator on VOA Alaska’s Peer Support team, and sharing her story is a key component of her role. It helps her connect with the youth and families at VOA, meeting them where they are. She shows them that there is hope and light in the pain and darkness. She shows them that they are not alone.
