Hazel Brogdon, Chief Medical Officer – Dr. Brogdon is Alaska Native and was born and raised in Chugiak, Alaska. She is Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and General Psychiatry. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Medicine, Alaska WWAMI Program, and completed a Psychiatry Residency and a Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship in Spokane, Washington. She received the NIDA-AACAP Resident Training Award in Substance Use Disorders in 2022. She is an alumna of the REACH program (Recognizing and Eliminating Disparities in Addiction through Culturally Informed Healthcare and a current Near-Peer Mentor for the REACH 2.0 Program. She is our VP of Medical Services, providing direct patient care across the VOA Alaska continuum of care and leading administrative support for the medical team, prioritizing patient safety and high-quality, evidence-based care.
