Aaron Osterback, Alaskan born and raised, grew up in a commercial fishing community in the Eastern Aleutian Islands. He graduated from Sand Point School and attended the University of Alaska Anchorage, before starting his career in the healthcare field as and administrative support. In his nineteen years with Southcentral Foundation (SCF), Aaron progressed from an administrative support to program coordinator, and eventually became a program manager. His experiences varied from answering phones and scheduling appointments to working with department and executive leadership to carry out initiatives and activities associated with SCF’s mission and vision. Aaron is excited to be a part of VOA Alaska’s team and brings all of his cumulative experience to support and help carry out its mission and vision.
As Coalition Coordinator, Aaron works in collaboration with the VOA Alaska-led Anchorage Adolescent Substance Misuse Prevention Coalition, The Alliance (Recover Alaska), and various programs within VOA to identify and develop opportunities of resources, activities, and support for youth, families, and members of the community who are focused on changing to and achieving a healthier lifestyle.
Aaron spends his time off engaging with his three children in various activities such as exploring Alaska via road trips and car camping, going to the occasional movie, or just spending time outdoors. Aaron’s personal hobbies include photography, gaming (board and video), drawing and writing, biking, and hiking.
