Waitlists and Program Updates

Every month, VOA Alaska sends out a referral partner newsletter containing the information below. If you would like to be added to that email list, please send a message to comms@voaak.org

VOA Alaska accepts outside agency assessments. Our Rapid Response team specializes in crisis intervention for youth and young adults ages 12-24. The team, which includes mental health clinicians and peer support specialists, additionally provides free consultations to parents, caregivers, and youth-serving professionals. Call Rapid Response during regular business hours at (907) 419-4158.

If a program has a waitlist, no problem! We provide interim services, including connection with a clinician, peer support specialists, and group counseling.

PROGRAM UPDATES, GROUPS, AND EVENTS

    • OWN YOUR PATH is a two-day, evidence-informed program focused on drug and alcohol safety. The course engages youth in self-evaluation and equips them with the tools to make healthier choices. Students learn to understand risks, practice safer decision-making, and connect to support so they can “own their path.”
    • School-Based Services directly provides professional, on-site mental health and wellness support within the school environment. Our team helps students reduce stressors, build self-confidence, resiliency, and social competency, and enhance their capacity for academic success.
    • Family Support Group – Every Wednesday, 5:30 PM at VOA Alaska’s Midtown office. Open to all families and caregivers. Virtual option available. On the first Wednesday of the month, a community partner shares resources and dinner is provided. Contact: Felicia Nichols, ftungul@voaak.orgDownload flyer here
      • Outpatient, ASAM Level 1 – Weekly therapeutic services (individual, group, family)
    • TAY Services provides a spectrum of therapeutic services for youth experiencing mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders. Our focus is on creating a safe space for youth to take charge of their recovery and maintain sobriety. Services include three distinct levels of intensity:
      • Outpatient, ASAM Level 1 – Weekly therapeutic services (individual, group, family)
      • Intensive Outpatient, ASAM Level 2.1 – Structured, frequent counseling for focused recovery.
    • TAY Parent Group – Every Thursday, 12:00 PM at VOA Alaska’s Midtown office. Open to all transitional-aged youth (18-24) with children under 6 years of age to connect with resources and peers. Contact: Felicia Nichols, ftungul@voaak.org

    • At VOA Alaska’s Adolescent Residential Center for Help (ARCH), youth work toward lasting recovery in a structured, 24/7 therapeutic environment. Designed for those with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health concerns at ASAM Level 3.5 or 3.7, the program continues to evolve to meet the needs of clients.
    • The Rapid Response team provides immediate crisis intervention for
youth and young adults, with a 60-minute response time in Anchorage. We also offer behavioral health consultation and support for parents, caregivers, and staff of youth-serving organizations. Services are available across Anchorage or statewide via telehealth.
