Maricar was born and raised in Anchorage. She has over 18 years of administrative experience working in non-profit organizations, and over 20 years working with youth. She has always been passionate about making a difference in the community and having positive connections because of the empowering support systems she had growing up and raising children as a teen mom.

Outside of work, Maricar enjoys spending time with her family and friends.  She also loves cooking, traveling, and playing hockey.
