Julia Luey joined the VOA Alaska family in 2018 to pursue her passion in serving Alaska’s most vulnerable, our children. She has been in the field since 2007 where she first fell in love with the substance use and behavioral health field in her work with women with children. Julia pursued educational and professional counseling certification to continue moving up the ladder, and has experience in most direct-service provider positions. Throughout her experiences in working in the adult and children sector she identified the need for stronger youth programs in our State and she was drawn to VOA’s mission and vision. Julia has a Bachelors in Psychology and holds the following national counseling certifications: Chemical Dependency Clinical Supervisor and National Certified Addiction Counselor I. Throughout her experience and education, Julia believes in the power of connection and hope and is motivated to spread this to the youth and families VOA serves.
