Michelle has lived in Anchorage since birth. She earned her bachelor’s degree with Wayland Baptist University in Human Services in 2014. She is currently in graduate school for Clinical Mental Health with Grand Canyon University. She has 3 boys who are very active in both baseball and hockey and truly enjoys watching them play sports. Michelle is a recovering opioid addict and celebrated 5 years clean in June 2023.

Michelle joined VOA Alaska in 2020 and has gained tremendous knowledge on resources and connections to assist the growth and development of the young Alaskans VOA serves, empowering them to live they lives that want to live. She started as a Peer Support Specialist before being promoted to a Substance Use Counselor position within VOA’s Outpatient Services. In February of 2023, she accepted the Connection and Engagement Manager position in which she now connects youth with services, engages them in activities, and helps encourage them in the course of their treatment to help them reach their personal goals.
