Hannah Claugus
Assistant Program Director, ARCH

Hannah has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in social work, graduating from UAA in 2019. She grew up in a family that was greatly impacted by addiction and mental health struggles, which is what initially drew her to this field of work. She always knew she wanted to serve families who were struggling with similar issues, but wasn’t sure where she would get started. During Hannah’s last year in school, she had an internship with VOA Alaska and fell in love with their mission. She started working as a Mental Health Clinician at ARCH after graduating, and then moved into the Assistant Program Manager position two years later.

Hannah is passionate about working with adolescents because it’s an opportunity to intervene early and assist them in gaining tools that will help them throughout their life. Their journey in recovery might look messy, even after receiving services at VOA Alaska, but at some point, when they are ready, they will fall back on those tools and skills we helped equip them with.

ARCH keeps Hannah busy, but outside of work, you’ll find her spending time with her family and  two boys, who are 6 and 1 years old.
