Serving Alaska Youth & Families is What We Do

As of March 21st, VOA Alaska shifted most services to telehealth, using secure, encrypted Zoom video conferencing, with telephone appointments available as an alternative. Now that all existing clients have successfully transitioned into telehealth services, our team looks forward to welcoming new clients and doing our part to assist youth in the community who find themselves needing help.

We know not everyone is equally equipped nor prepared to participate in telehealth services and we are able to assist those who may face barriers to participating via video conferencing or telephone appointments. Working with our community partners, we can help clients in accessing free/upgraded internet offers as well as providing loaner devices for use during appointments. Ultimately, the health and safety of our staff and clients is our highest priority, which means we must reduce in-person interactions to the greatest extent possible.

Continuing to provide these behavioral health and family support services is a critical piece of our health care and response system. With the ongoing disruptions to established routines, social connections, and opportunities to get out of the house, it is no surprise that the need for youth-focused mental health and substance misuse services has increased. Our caring and professional team members are prepared to help youth and families through these trying times. All it takes is a phone call to (907) 279-9640 to get started today.
