In-Kind Donations

Support our mission to serve young Alaskans and their families with an in-kind donation.

Cash or in-kind donations for any of the below items are most welcome and would be greatly appreciated by youth receiving care and support from the VOA Alaska team. While cash donations allow us to direct the funds to the greatest need, in-kind donations are a fun way for individuals and businesses alike to add a personal touch to gifts for youth and families in their community.

The following items have been identified by programs as in need of additional community support to address them.

Ready to make your in-kind donation? Please send a note to community@voaak.org.

  • Hygiene supplies
  • Gift cards to department or housing stores where essential goods can be purchased

Teens are rough on furniture and our couches at ARCH are feeling the pain with wobbly legs, broken arm rests, and stained cloth. Help us buy some sturdy couches to swap out these sad pieces of furniture!

Many of the youth and young adults served by VOA Alaska are not able to afford proper technology to support participation in treatment services via telehealth. With the uncertainty caused by the ongoing pandemic, VOA Alaska is seeking donations of new or gently used tablets to provide to youth without a device. Your donation will make it possible for them to receive the care and support they need, from the safety of their own homes.

When youth graduate from VOA Alaska’s treatment programs, we give them a backpack full of essentials and goodies to set them up for success into the future. Many of our youth come into our doors with very little; it is amazing how an extra set of socks, school supplies, journals for reflection, etc. can send each youth back to their homes and communities with reminders of our love and support.

Suggested items (new items only, please):

  • Backpack
  • Socks
  • School supplies
  • Journals
  • Winter gear (hats, gloves, scarves, etc.)
  • Hygiene supplies
  • Gift cards to department or clothing stores where essential goods can be purchased

To encourage youth participating in VOA Alaska’s services to continue engaging with their clinician, counselor, and/or support specialist, our team gives out gift cards of small value ($5-25) as participation rewards. These gift cards also let the youth know that community members are rooting for them to continue and succeed!

Many of the teens in the care of VOA Alaska have a limited number of trusted adults in their life whom they can lean on for encouragement, support, and guidance. Donating hand-written notes or cards with words of encouragement, like positive adviceaffirmations, or things that helped you when you were a teen, can make a huge difference!

You can deliver the cards to our midtown Anchorage office or mail them to VOA Alaska 2600 Cordova Street, Suite 101, Anchorage, AK 99503.
